The Maintenance team at Givens Great Laurels is in need of a full-time Maintenance Technician II.


Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: 

  • Ensuring that the physical aspects of the assigned properties meet Givens Communities’ quality standards and applicable laws
  • Responsibility for the maintenance, upkeep, and repair of the electrical and mechanical systems, appliances, buildings, and grounds
  • Emptying trash, cleaning common areas, all aspects involved in turning apartments
  • Obtaining work orders from Community Manager, prioritize and assign work, complete work orders
  • Responding to maintenance requests and resolving maintenance issues promptly
  • Attending staff meetings to discuss work orders, budget compliance, ongoing vacancies, move-in/move-outs as needed
  • Purchase all needed supplies and materials within budgetary constraints

Qualified candidates must possess: 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Fair Housing and Section 504/ADA certification, or willing to obtain once hired
  • Previous property maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of pertinent laws and EPA and OSHA regulations governing proper storage and management of hazardous materials
  • Basic knowledge of and complete repairs for electricity, electrical appliances, plumbing, refrigeration systems, plastering, HVAC, painting, drywall repair, and carpentry

Added plus if the candidate has:

  • Formal training in one or more trades (HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Construction, Plumbing, etc.)
